The many faces of Oulu

It was truly a wonderfully crazy week-end in Oulu. The last pictures were supposed to be taken when certain lights on a curvy bridge would be lit, but it wouldn't happen. We waited for an hour and a half in a restaurant by the Oulu-river and kept popping out and watching it its dark enough for the sensors that the streetlights turn on- and nothing happened. I allmost thought its time to finish the shoot (started at noon and now it was past 4pm) Then we thought that the restaurant Seurahuone is beutifully lit and we'll try to use that as a "Parisian" background. I think it is beutiful!

The groom has a great sense of humor and he confessed to me that he had proposed the bride on this parking lot. Of course I wanted to show he coordinates to everybody. We had great problems to find a parking space because everybody was still Saturday shopping. We parked the couples car in front of the market hall and I loved the way the color matched surroundings. We made several poses here and in the finished photos I'll digitally clean the undercloth on the car.

Another rawish version from the same place- yes it was coooold!

One digitally darkened version from the neighbourhood of the church (you can see a glimpse behind, on the right)
This is homage to Gordon McGowan (see the coventry post) I had to make the couple come lower to show the church.
Just love the birchtrees here.

Oulunjoen kirkko -church is beautiful but not so photogenic when there's little ambient light. Here the couple's friends hand hold warm video kind of lights to give form to the faces
